A Christian in name only!
"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach." Isaiah 4:1
A prophetic word indeed! - it does not imply scarcity of men, it speaks of some strange lovers. Notice that these women ain't seeking for an "intimate relationship" where love exist
. They don't want anything (food or clothing) from "this man." All they desire is to bear the name of "the man," to remove the shame of not being married
.
The man is "Christ Jesus". The 'seven women' speaks of the multitude of people who wants nothing to do with Christ, who disgust (never want to hear or do) the word of Christ (the bread of life), never wants Christ royal robe of righteousness but yet just want to be called a Christian.
All they want is to be identified with the name only. It doesn't matter how long "these 7 women" has gone to church or even call his name and even wear a big tag on with the name. Are you a Christian in name only? Is your life reflecting the name?
Christ desires intimate relationship, and not name seekers.
A Christian in name only!
