Have you been
asking God for a particular thing for a long time now and it is not forth
coming? You have fasted and prayed about it for days and given challenging
seeds, but still you are yet to receive the answer to your request; You’ve even
started thinking that maybe it is the little sins that you are still indulging
in here and there that is preventing you from receiving answers to your prayers
and you have even started amending your ways and working more on pleasing God
and getting involved the more in his service, yet the answer to your request is
not forth coming. You might have even concluded that maybe
God does not want to do it because he feels you are not ready for it. Yet you find yourself needing that thing the more that you’ve started doubting the promises of God in your life.
God does not want to do it because he feels you are not ready for it. Yet you find yourself needing that thing the more that you’ve started doubting the promises of God in your life.
‘What do you want
from me?’ you’ve questioned God several times, but it seems he is nowhere near
you to respond to your questions. It even seem funny to you when you gather the
little strength you have in you to still study his word and you hear him still
say ‘his wish for you is for you to prosper and be in health,’ yet you are
moneyless and sick. You hear him say that ‘he has supplied your every need,’
yet you are experiencing lack front, back, left and right. you hear him say
that ‘he has given you all that pertains to life and godliness,’ yet you live
in misery and want and you wonder if he really meant what he said concerning
you in his word or he was just messing up with your mind.
What do i need to
do to get my prayers answered? You have asked yourself several times, but there
don’t seem to be any form of logical answer at your disposal. You have fasted
and prayed, you’ve given the last money on you hoping that God would do a
miracle. You have even changed your life style and concentrated more on the
things of God, yet the answer is not forth coming. You are very sure that you
have faith and you believe God has the power to do all things. What is now the
problem?
The answer to the
last question is ‘WORK’. Believers most times forget that for faith to be
active, it needs to be put into action. Work is the power of faith – it is the
proof that you really had the faith in the first place. If you have fasted and
prayed, given and praised, changed your life style to please God the more and
his promise isn’t forth coming in your life, then you are lacking one
thing….WORK.
Faith is very
much dependent on work. Show me your faith without your work and I will show
you my faith by my works. Faith and work walk hand in hand. You have prayed to
God for a job, yet nobody knows that you are looking for a job – you have never
told anyone or search any job sites online and you keep blaming God for your
joblessness and questioning his promises for your life. You are single and
believing God for a life partner; you’ve memorized all the scriptures relating
to faith and marriage yet you don’t work to improve on yourself and your life.
You just sit on one place hoping that God will send him/her to come and knock
on your door and offer himself/herself to you – maybe you’re hoping to get
married to the mail man.
Irrespective of what
you are believing God for, you have to back it up with work for it to
materialize. Remember that there is no faith without work –as the scripture
says that ‘faith without work is dead.’ So, there is no way you can claim you
have faith if you are not doing the work to make the faith materialize. God has
given us all things, yes. But we have to do the work to take what he has given
to us. There is a time for sowing and there is also a time for reaping. He that
did not sowed when it was time for sowing will have nothing to reap when the
time for reaping comes.
All God’s
promises are true, but we have to take them. His blessings are all around us, his
favors are always with us and he has assured us that he would bless whatever we
put our hands on. But the problem is that most of us(believers) don’t want to
put our hands on anything. We want God to do the work for us while we just sit
and enjoy the blessings. No wonder your life is now looking like the book of
lamentation in the bible.
The moment we get
on our knees and call on God’s name to help us in any circumstance that we’re
in, he answers our prayers. But most of us fail to do the work that is required
to make the prayers materialize - faith without work is dead. So don’t just
fast and pray alone or give alone; back it up with work – the work required to
bring that your prayer to fruition and see if you won’t be blown away by God’s
abundant blessings in your life.
Remember that ‘your work is the proof that you have faith ’and it’s Faith that brings the energy to do the work because it is sure of victory in the end. So, should you always want to see God’s mighty hands in your life, don’t just pray or have faith alone- back it up with work and see yourself soar higher in life.
